| For grinding larger quantities of coffee beans for a coffee-drinking crowd, Capresso's commercial-grade Infinity grinder handles 8-1/2 ounces of beans at a time. Sixteen different settings--four each in the four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse--let you adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing. The finest setting is ideal for preparing Turkish coffee, which is a rare feature to find in a grinder. A built-in timer sets the grind for anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds so you can walk away without having to constantly press a button to continue the grinding process. The Infinity has an advanced conical burr design made of steel that is usually only found on commercial grinders. This burr design slows down the gears and reduces the amount of friction and heat to preserve coffee's flavor and aroma. The coffee container holds up to 4 ounces of grounds and remains sealed during grinding. For safety, the bean container also needs to be locked into place for the Infinity to operate. For easy cleaning, the bean container and upper burr lift off so you can clean the grinding chamber with the included brush and wipe down the exterior housing. The conical burr grinder measures 7-2/3 by 5-2/5 by 10-4/5 inches and carries a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde |

Solid grinder

First of all, there are 4 different models. For some reason, that basic information was difficult to find. I even called the company and the person on the phone had to go ask someone.
All 4 models are the same with the exception of the finish:
Black plastic.
Silver painted plastic.
Brushed Stainless steel finish (metal base).
Polished stainless steel finish (metal base).
It turns out they no longer make the polished stainless steel finish. I purchased the brushed stainless steel model 565.05 thinking it was the polished model. The picture was wrong. And even on one side of the box it shows the polished model.
So to me the only drawback to this grinder is the difficulty in picking and receiving the model I wanted.
Otherwise in my limited use so far, it is perfect. I suggest a metal base model so that it does not vibrate around. The brushed stainless steel matches my Breville machine perfectly too.
I studied a lot of grinders and this was the best model and price. I paid $119 with free shipping. Very easy to use; Pour some coffee beans in and spin the knob.

I bought the model 565 instead because it is actually metal and weighs about twice as much as the plastic one. I wanted something solid. This one is. It sits vibration free on the counter while grinding. I tried two other grinders before this one. You will find negative reviews on them somewhere here.
I have been using this one for a couple of weeks now and LOVE it. It does a great job grinding the beans, even flavored, very oily dark roast, the bane of most grinders.. I found the right grind setting for my beans, gold filter and Krups drip pot after only a couple of tries. Makes wonderful coffee. I don't make Expresso, so I can't speak to that. There are five finer settings than the one I use and ten that are courser. I think most people could find one that would work for them. I don't clean it after every use as recommended. Maybe once a week or so. I've had no problems so far.
It's much quieter than any other grinder I've used and I have had very little static problem. Nothing a light tap on the side doesn't handle.
It's not perfect, but as close as I can afford. Bottom line: spend a little more and get the 565. It's worth it. |
Very Even Grind, No Static Electricity

I upgraded finally from a mill grinder to the Capresso 560. This has profoundly improved the quality of my espresso shots. The mill grinder particles varied in size from powdery dust to a large sand grain. The Capresso 560 grind is consistently even. Even grind allows the pump on my espresso machine to work much more efficiently because the portafilter basket is not clogging with powdery particles. I can adjust the grind just fine enough so that the espresso extracts at the same rate every time.
I also like the design that is easy to clean and looks good on my countertop. The coffee container has a convenient rounded leading edge that makes it easy to dispense the coffee into the portafilter without making a mess. The machine has snug tolerances that are consistent with a high quality machine.
There is no detectable static electricity that makes some other grinders so messy. It may have something to do with the grind staying cool while it is being milled.
The analog timer has ten increments. Each increment is approximately enough to make one ounce of espresso.
Overall this is a well built and economical machine that produces excellent results. |
This is a great grinder - I don't know what the problem is for these first 2 folks.

Fast and efficient. Excellent and easily adjustable grinding choices. The finer the grind the longer it takes - as you'd want.
If you follow the directions and do not grind more than one hopper full of beans at a time - you won't get any clogged grounds.
Burr grinder is the better choice at this price.
I have had my grinder for over 1 year and use it daily for espresso and regular coffee each day!
Highly recommend this item and make! This really is a good grinder, not a cheap piece of junk!! Parts are stainless, plastic, and metal - where you'd expect them to be stainless, plastic, and metal. |

| I bought this December '08 and thought it time to send in a review. I researched thoroughly before choosing this one and am more than happy with it. We are avid coffee drinkers and use this unit daily for both drip and espresso grind. It doesn't quite do a course enough grind for French Press, but pretty good, I like pressed coffee for variety, but it isn't too important to me. The espresso grind is what's essential and this unit does an excellent job. No need to pay hundreds for a dedicated espresso grinder like a Rocky, which we were tempted to do because we read there is no other way to get a true espresso grind. We grind about 2# of beans a week of italian or french or espresso roast beans and it doesn't need stirring or bumping to keep grinding, the beans feed well with no help. I only clean it about once a month, which means I take the hopper off and wipe it and brush the oils off the burr inside. The metal one is heavy and worth the extra,it doesn't look cheap. Looks great next to my Starbucks drip and espresso machines. That's it! We love it and it's portable so we even take it camping! |
